I know you've all been secretly hoping that I wouldn't follow my normal trend of monthly blogging...i mean, honestly, who would stay friends with me if they had to look at Dell Schanze's face for one more minute? Not me. That's why I'm posting LOTS of new pictures and bits of useless information. If you do, perchance, get sick of my face, too, I won't take it personally. But, I can't promise I'll get on the ball like I am now, and give you something lovely to gaze upon. This face is as good as it gets. well...let's hope sometimes better.
Here's to better blogging....

Totally Awesome Governor!?!

![]() |
I was searching for the interview I saw on abc this last thursday night so I could post it here, but instead I found something better: his very own blog!
read here for "The Best Interview Ever Done!" (and other Totally Awesome entries)
http://dellschanze.blogspot.com/
If you happen to find the video, please pay close attention as to what makes him such a great candidate. It goes something like this:
Schanze: I'm perfect for governor because I'm a hero.
Blankenfeld: You're a hero? (practically gasping)
Schanze: Darn right!
Blankenfeld: Why are you a hero?
Schanze: What do you mean "Why am I a hero?"
Blankenfeld: What defines you as a hero?
Schanze: Because I just am! There are LOTS of people who want to be me!
Blankenfeld: .............
uh-huh. exactly.
Happy voting!
Goddesses of Sewing
So...I am totally stealing that title from my friend, Jordan, who really is THE goddess of sewing, but for the sake of a great blog title, I'll use it anyway.Pretty much the only people who read my blog are the members of my family and my loyal friends. Thanks, guys... So, without sounding too repetitive, click here and here and here to see what the ladies enjoyed down in sunny SG for the weekend.
If you're feeling a bit lazy and can't seem to muster up the strength to read one more blog entry about sewing! just know that bags were sewn, aprons donned and sassy attitudes reigned. If you're a woman, you are SO jealous that you couldn't attend. If you're a man you most likely stopped reading this entry when you saw the title. no hard feelings, though.
BTW, when is the last time you got to rock the serger and own the Brother? That's what I thought. Go on a sewing retreat and rekindle your seamstress love.
Sincerely,
your sewing machine.

Viva La Hanta
Perhaps the reason I haven't posted for so long is because I have been held hostage in my own home--continually terrorized by the creepy insects and vermin invading my space. If you don't believe me, just take a look at this and this!! If that doesn't make you all gaggy inside, I don't know what does. (The second picture/blog is practically an identical account to what I underwent in my own home).
If you're stomach is reeling a bit, take a minute to regain your composure by reviewing some of the less revolting things we've been up to. Go ahead...scroll on...

Sleepless in Seattle
Meet Cindi. She is my BFF from the good old B.Y. It used to be that I couldn't go one day without calling her on the phone or spending time with her. Now it seems like we shamefully go weeks without finding time to chat, and getting to spend actual time together gets harder and harder as our lives get busier and we never move to the same city as each other. That has really put a damper on things. "Quit your job and move next door already! sheesh!" Imagine my delight, then, when she invited me to come visit for the week and tickets on SWA were a STEAL!! So, I left seth and tills and up and went. just like that! hah! And I enjoyed every minute of it!!! hah, again!
Let me tell you a few reasons why Cindi makes a great best friend:
1) She sounds exactly like me. Really! It's nearly impossible to tell our voices apart when recorded. Believe me, we've tested it!
2) She is the master baker. We spent many a morning baking bagels at the local Einstein bakery. That was my favorite college job ever!
3) She introduced me to some fine musicians, like Cake and MXPX. I introduced her to the Indigo Girls and Peter Breinholt. Even steven, right? It could have been a treacherous clash, but it somehow all made sense.
4) She thinks that the bridge of her nose and the base of her nose (when measured simultaneously with the thumb and forefinger) are the same length. Oh wait, that's me! (Try it...it's one of life's great mysteries).
5) She dutifully helped me pick out lingerie before I got married and even held my "sisters" as I shimmied into my wedding gown when my mom forgot the bustier and the only bra I had was a sports bra. Now THAT is love. (sorry if that is TMI, but I feel like it is a totally important point.)
6) She predicted that I would have my baby on her birthday and she was right! black magic? Probably....my baby was a week overdue! But don't you think that's very best friend-like to forsee such an event?

7) When you get right down to it, she's the best listener and confidante a person could ask for. She indulges me in every way and I love her for it!
Here is a small photo-logue of our 4 short days together. What a dream! My favorite parts were hiking, biking and getting my out of shape rear in gear with Cindi. Her favorite part was me cuddling in bed with her. ;) What?! I couldn't help it...I've been sleeping with a man for too long!! ;)

Once Upon A Time...
...there was a beautiful Princess named Matilda. And she was very pretty. And very stylish.
And slightly bossy.
And perhaps the fairest maiden in all the land. (Ancient folklore strongly suggests it was so.) And she danced and she sang and she bid the mere peasants (read: mom and dad) to join in the merriment. She was kind and affable, often complimenting others--noticing the important things like their hair, "so long!" their nail polish "so pretty!" their clothing "I like!" and their shoes, "so cute!". She lived her life in the lap of luxury, dining on chocolate "noke" (milk) and watching every Barbie "mee-moo" (movie) known to mankind. And she was a content princess. And extremely likeable. And someday, her prince will come.
