Oh baby...

A baby.  Yes, you heard me: a BABY.

Nevermind that you never knew.  For all you know, my "growing girl" is now 11 1/2 - working on long division - for all the blogging I've cared to do.  But, since you don't all live close, you should probably be introduced to the yummiest baby ever: LEO.

love him.  mush him. come visit him.

Thomas Leopold Braun
born 9/17/2012 almost in the parking lot.  not a lie.
7 lbs 11 oz. 21" long.
smells delicious.  sleeps, well, like a baby :)

Ridiculously adorable.  just ridiculous.

Will the real Leo Braun please step forward?

Happy Leo Hunting.

My Growing Girl!

I feel badly that I haven't posted much on my sweet Tills! It has been an exciting summer with trips to the pool and park and I love how helpful and darling she is. Here she is...

at Preschool graduation (sorry...drunk baby alert....)

nanny, tills, great-grandma adams, brunka
with her friends:
Liberty, Mary Kate, Eliza (she looks super fun to play with in this pic...not)

with her wounds:
Tillie got this doozie from a curling iron -- ouch!!
She had 2nd and 3rd degree burns. she was a real trooper!

Love you, goose!

Finchley's First!!

Yay! Finchley turned one this week!! A Fish party for "Finn" - a great success, if I do say so myself. Thanks to everyone who came and played in our backyard - it was so much fun!

So, below are some fun pics of our little boy. Finch is a silly little thing. He is almost ready to walk, loves to get into everything and practices his scaring tactics with boisterous rounds of peek-a-boo and growling. His most recent habit is a loud, piercing, shrill squeal. sometimes out of playfulness and delight, and sometimes out of frustration and anger. Either way, it makes me want to toss him out the window. does that make me a bad parent?

He sometimes bites, pinches and pulls hair. He will pull your skirt right off of you when he climbs up the back of your legs to bite the tender and soft skin of your thigh. he is so naughty. :) He is adorable, though. sweet and cuddly, the BEST napper *yay!* He laughs freely and often and I melt when he says "hey, dada!" or "hey, mama!" after waking from a nap or if either of us has been gone all day. does it get any better than that?

He keeps our neighbors and ward members entertained by flirting shamelessly with any woman over 65. He has a knack for loosening their hearing aids and makes quick work of their earrings, canes, and glasses. and they love him for it! Last week, he climbed right into the arms of an old man sitting on our row and played there quietly with him for 15 minutes--trying to remove his hearing aid and pulling on his long earlobes and little moles. hah! He did the same thing with the old librarian and she laughed like a little school girl when he smiled and kissed her. if only she knew what a rascal he can be!

We love this little boy!!

Happy Birthday!!

My crazy cake making skills! sa-weet!

The *staged* cake consumption. This boy does NOT like sweets! (what the--?)

Just finishing up a few emails...

Spying on the neighbors and longing to play outside.
He races through the door whenever he gets the chance.

Climbing up my legs, probably getting ready to take a bite!

Learning to crawl upstairs (he's just figured out how to crawl down, this week!)

The beginning of the END (or something like that, I'm sure....)

I'm 30 today. Yep, the big 3-0 finally reared it's ugly and misshapen head. What that mostly means is that I've found a hot-bed of gray hair on the underside of my part. and that makes me pretty upset...

Actually, turning another year older is incredibly anti-climactic these days. Everyone says that 30 is the new 20, but I'm pretty sure I wasn't this awesome when I was 20. Not even at 25. I'm basically reaching the peak of my life right now. I'm on my way to the 30-something era of my life and I'm fairly certain I'm gonna rock the next decade. (my mom told me so)

Let's just take a short look back at how awesome my life has been:

Me *eating* my birthday cake, circa 1983. I'm so committed!

mmmmmmmmm......

me rocking a perm, circa 1989. I'm so rad!

Me bringing back the coke bottle glasses, circa 1993. I'm so classic!

Me working the funky, disco, jive at Classic Skating, circa 1995. I'm so retro!

Me playing for adoring fans in Cali, circa 1998. I'm so fresh!

Me spreading the good word in Italy, circa 2002. I'm so buff!

Me snagging the greatest (and hottest) guy at BYU, circa 2004. I'm so smart!

Me living in London with said great (and hot) guy, circa 2006! I'm so adventurous!

Me with two kids, circa 2010. I'M SO CRAZY!!

here's to another 30 EPIC years!

Ketch-up 2009

Hope everyone is enjoying the new year and recovering from all the disillusionment of resolutions and what not. seriously...was anyone else completely overwhelmed come, say, January 5th? Your goals are IMPOSSIBLE....just give up now. I promise not to tell--I certainly won't be writing it on this blog, anyhow...

Well. I had a baby. And I went to Portland AND Seattle twice. (lucky!) Then Seth and I celebrated 5 years of wedded bliss and we bought a couch cover to celebrate. we had Halloween, then Thanksgiving, then Christmas, then New Years and now...well...now....there seems to be some dissension from my far away sibs and friends. apparently I never call, i never write and now I won't post pics of our fat baby. fine. I said it.

sylvia...this one's for you. ;)

Now...just a disclaimer. this post will be FRAUGHT (fraught, I say!) with pictures and nonsensical musings. Please feel pressured to look at EVERY one and then post comments.

hem, hem.....

Introducing......

FINCHLEY!!!

(or is this tillie? or is it finch? or is it tillie? or is it finch?)

This is just one of the many conundrums that comes from marrying your first cousin. you're children look ridiculously similar. So...which is it? dunno.

This first video is of Finch LOVING his jumper! The second is from a family activity that involved raking leaves and then plowing into them from Tillie's roller coaster. Now...just a warning....if you are my sister, you might pee your pants. consider yourself warned.

Sundance lovin'
Seth's b-day lunch. I took him roller-blading at Liberty park. I would show pics but we looked SO nerdy, that I couldn't bear it.
The most unsanitary place on earth, Seattle
This is a well-known place to leave your ABC gum. I almost pushed Seth into it, but valued my marriage (and life) WAY too much. but still....
Troll under the bridge, Seattle
Pikes Place Market, Seattle

Fall Fun
These pictures are from the Temple Quarry up Little Cottonwood Canyon. We love this place and we go here every fall for our own personal photo shoot.
(because we are gorgeous, that's why)

Finch eating solids for the first time. I almost ate HIM up....i simply cannot resist that face!

Halloween. I love this action shot!
kitty bo bitty....(I love the vampire fangs!)
Just a side note, I found these fangs on my dresser one night before I went to bed, so I put them in my mouth. Then I turned to give Seth a kiss goodnight and when I parted my lips he freaked out because I had a mouthful of glowing teeth.
Ahhh...it still makes me laugh when I think about it!

Cindi B. married at last! Heather came from Nebraska, Kitsa from Pennsylvania and me from Utah. We were only missing Angie in New York.

The happy couple.....Cindi and Rob ;)

Me and tills at the wedding dance party.
My adorable munchkin. seriously? i LOVE this guy!
MAURY CHRISTMAS!

Little Red Riding Hood! Tillie is obsessed with this story lately so I made her a cape for Christmas. a-dorable.

3 yr. old beauties: Caresie, Sisi, Tillie and Gracie.
my sweetheart.
