Yay! Finchley turned one this week!! A Fish party for "Finn" - a great success, if I do say so myself. Thanks to everyone who came and played in our backyard - it was so much fun!
So, below are some fun pics of our little boy. Finch is a silly little thing. He is almost ready to walk, loves to get into everything and practices his scaring tactics with boisterous rounds of peek-a-boo and growling. His most recent habit is a loud, piercing, shrill squeal. sometimes out of playfulness and delight, and sometimes out of frustration and anger. Either way, it makes me want to toss him out the window. does that make me a bad parent?
He sometimes bites, pinches and pulls hair. He will pull your skirt right off of you when he climbs up the back of your legs to bite the tender and soft skin of your thigh. he is so naughty. :) He is adorable, though. sweet and cuddly, the BEST napper *yay!* He laughs freely and often and I melt when he says "hey, dada!" or "hey, mama!" after waking from a nap or if either of us has been gone all day. does it get any better than that?
He keeps our neighbors and ward members entertained by flirting shamelessly with any woman over 65. He has a knack for loosening their hearing aids and makes quick work of their earrings, canes, and glasses. and they love him for it! Last week, he climbed right into the arms of an old man sitting on our row and played there quietly with him for 15 minutes--trying to remove his hearing aid and pulling on his long earlobes and little moles. hah! He did the same thing with the old librarian and she laughed like a little school girl when he smiled and kissed her. if only she knew what a rascal he can be!
We love this little boy!!
Happy Birthday!!

My crazy cake making skills! sa-weet!

The *staged* cake consumption. This boy does NOT like sweets! (what the--?)

Just finishing up a few emails...

Spying on the neighbors and longing to play outside.
He races through the door whenever he gets the chance.

Climbing up my legs, probably getting ready to take a bite!

Learning to crawl upstairs (he's just figured out how to crawl down, this week!)
